THE SEXTON LOFTS

The Sexton Lofts, located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, is one of the largest residential loft developments completed in Chicago. No longer suitable for a manufacturing or warehouse use due to its large floor plates and multi-story configuration, the building’s heavy timber loft aesthetic made it ideal for a residential conversion.
It was determined that the building’s construction could accept additional floors, so a five-story addition was designed for the east end of the building and a one-story addition was placed across the remainder of the building with setbacks on all sides to create private outdoor terraces for the units.
